Central America.

Not common. 3 - 5 large beautiful cream colored reddish-spotted flowers. Flower spikes on all Stanhopea species tend to emerge from the bottom of the plant. For this reason, basket or mounted culture is best. (In our nursery we see plenty of spikes blooming from the plastic pots as well.)
