TOF4062 Dendrobium aberrans.
Eastern Papua New Guinea.

Dendrobium aberrans.

Gallery
Still one of our most popular species. Mossy intermediate forests. Miniature clumping plants produce small sprays of 1/2" interestingly shaped white flowers, which last about three weeks. Old pseudobulbs keep sending out inflorescences for many years. Can flower anytime, with an emphasis on winter. On trees in the forests of the Maboro Range (Waria District). The species grows always in colonies.' (Schlecter 1914) Very cute - a winner.

Calyptrochilus. Flamboyant! One of the greatest. Pendulous canes produce clusters of two-tone brilliant orange and yellow flowers. Very widespread lateral sepals give the flowers an unusual aspect. (Occurs in lowlands as well as highland N.G.)

TOF4233 Dendrobium glomeratum x Dendrobium obtusisepalum

No Image Available

Dendrobium glomeratum has been one of our top Dendrobiums over the years - you can't beat the floral displays - clusters of large, vivid lavender-red, long-lasting flowers. Vigorous too. (we have a fresh batch of that species underway in our lab right now). Here we have crossed it with the mind-blowing New Guinea species Den. obtusisepalum. The colors are different, obtusisepalum being orange and gold. Also, obtusisepalum is smaller than the other parent, so the hybrid may be more compact. Both species are pictured in the Gallery section of this website. Very interesting cross - two of our favorite species.

Dendrobium pachyphyllum.

One of our favorite little cuties even though flowers last only a day or two. Small plants form dense mats and produce multitudes of 1/2" fantastically sweet fragrant flowers. Colors vary from cream-white with purple veins to pure yellow. Plant flowers randomly throughout the year, and we can always tell when this one is blooming in the nursery. Small plant with big fragrance! Very limited.
