Gallery		 Still one of our most popular species. Mossy intermediate forests. Miniature clumping plants produce small sprays of 1/2" interestingly shaped white flowers, which last about three weeks. Old pseudobulbs keep sending out inflorescences for many years. Can flower anytime, with an emphasis on winter. On trees in the forests of the Maboro Range (Waria District). The species grows always in colonies…” (Schlecter 1914) Very cute - a winner.

May bloom several times per year. Warm lowland epiphyte likes water all year.

Gallery		 A classic! Large epiphyte has short spikes which emerge along canes carrying large long-lasting white `antelope type' flowers with tall yellow multi-twisted petals. White lip is vividly striped with purple. Likes warmth and bright light. Many of these antelope-type Dendrobiums were brought to Hawaii by Marines returning from the Pacific at the end of World War II. `One of the most striking of the Spatulatas and a firm favorite in hybrid work' (Millar, 1999) Ms. Millar described her 1974 patrol on a trawler on the Bernsbach River in Western District, Papua. Upon finding this species for the first time in New Guinea, she said that they were euphoric about the number and size of the plants hanging over the river. `I think it was the best and happiest patrol I was ever on."
