| | "One of the most fascinating of the 'primitive' Stanhopea species."(Greer) Fleshy cream colored flowers lightly spotted with red. Base of lip orange-yellow spotted with red. "This is sometimes called the torito sin cacho (hornless bull) because it is obviously one of the toritos, even though it lacks the characteristic horns." (Dressler, 1993) Grows in shady tropical forests from sea level up to 900 meters. Very large plants. | |
