| | Very interesting tufted epiphyte has showy pink flowers with lilac-purple lips arising on erect stems from the base of the strange conical pseudobulbs. Leaves are deciduous but no special culture is required. "Plants are located with difficulty, for their onion-shaped pseudobulbs are always found nestling among mosses, fern, and liverworts covering the trunks and lower branches of heavily shaded forest trees." (Stewart, Orchids of Africa, 1981) Plants are perfect right now and will commence flowering later at the end of the summer or fall. Ours is a superior cultivar. Recently potted, showing new growths. | |
