TOF2727 Cattleya gaskelliana `TOF943' x sib `Sr. Npod'
Venezuela..

No Image Available

This is our very prolific C. gaskelliana Tipo (typical) gaskelliana crossed with another beautiful cultivar from Venezuela growers – C. gaskelliana var. gaskelliana. Typical colors, various shades of light to darker lavender, with dark lavender on lip. Should perform exceptionally well. Huge specimen bloomings are easy with this variety. Large plants. Some have bloomed before.

This has more brilliant colors than the normal C. gaskelliana var. gaskelliana. It is a selfing of a sib-cross, ‘Black Tiger’ x ‘Jazmin’. Vigorous species makes huge specimen plants – blooming with many sprays of 2-7 large showy fragrant flowers.

Cattleya gaskelliana var. concolor 'Natural World' x self.

Gallery
This is actually one of the best cultivars we have managed to add to our collection over the years. It is an amazing performer with huge displays of large concolor-type flowers. Growth habit is more contained compared to some other cultivars of the species. Flowers are a uniform light lilac color, with orange in the throat. In England during the Golden Age, they were able to have one large-flowered cattleya species in bloom every day of the year, except during late May and early June. The introduction of C. gaskelliana in 1883, with its May-June flowering, changed all that – and this factor was responsible for fast rise in popularity. Gaskelliana sometimes gets a bad rap – for being too large and “too easy” to grow (!) I recommend this cultivar.

TOF3248 Cattleya guatemalensis `Guayaba x self.
Central America..

No Image Available

Natural hybrid of C. aurantiaca and C. skinneri. Unusual color form is really nice. Dense heads of many small cattleya flowers are a mixture of orangey and pink. I think Guayaba means guava.
