TOF526 Dendrobium pachyphyllum.
Vietnam through Malaysia..

Dendrobium pachyphyllum.

Gallery
One of our favorite little cuties even though flowers last only a day or two. Small plants form dense mats and produce multitudes of 1/2" fantastically sweet fragrant flowers.Colors vary from cream-white with purple veins to pure yellow. Flowers randomly throughout the year, and we can always tell when this one is blooming in the nursery. Small plant with big fragrance! Very limited.

Dendrobium sanderae var. major.

Gallery
Very attractive. Of the 4 types of D. sanderae, ‘Major’ has the largest flowers, with petals and lip much broader than in other types. Clusters of 4 or five large long-lasting crystalline white flowers appear at the leaf axils. Purple blotch on base and side lobes of lip. Intermediate. Flowers last and plant is in bloom for months. Dappled or diffused light is recommended.

TOF3300 Dendrobium shiraishii 'Natural World' x self
New Guinea..

No Image Available

Limited. "Newest" of the Latourea dendrobiums (published in 1992. However it was known for a long time before that, by Dutch colonists of New Guinea - as early as 1935. Very dramatic with good number of long-lasting flowers per spray (12). Very good cultivar, the best I've seen. Flowers are actual yellow, not cream-colored - with dramatic red striping on lip side lobes. Quite unique in Latourea.

TOF3102 Dendrobium stratiotes.
Western New Guinea..

Dendrobium stratiotes.

Gallery
A classsic! Large epiphyte has short spikes which emerge along canes carrying large long-lasting white “antelope type” flowers with tall yellow multi-twisted petals. White lip is vividly striped with purple. Likes warmth and bright light. Many of these antelope-type Dendrobiums were brought to Hawaii by Marines returning from the Pacific at the end of World War II. “One of the most striking of the Spatulatas and a firm favorite in hybrid work” (Millar, 1999) Ms. Millar described her 1974 patrol on a trawler on the Bernsbach River in Western District, Papua. Upon finding this species for the first time in New Guinea, she said that they were euphoric about the number and size of the plants hanging over the river. “I think it was the best and happiest patrol I was ever on."

TOF3261 Dendrobium tanii 'Dark Pink' x sib 'Pink'.
(Dendrobium bracteosum var. tanii.)
Moluccas.

Dendrobium tanii 'Dark Pink' x sib 'Pink'.

Gallery
Correctly D. bracteosum ‘Mr. Tan’s’, or also known as D. bracteosum var. tannii. Kew does not list D. tanii as a valid species name. It does differ from the regular bracteosum in its more compact growth habit and larger flowers. Small to medium warm-growing epiphyte, with flowers that last a very long time, 3 months or longer. Hopefully pink will come out, but in our previous experiences with Den. bracteosum itself, whites with colored lips also resulted)

TOF2374 Dimorphorchis rossii x self.
Sabah Borneo.

No Image Available

Rare, very-interesting large hot-to warm-growing Vandaceous species. It blooms with two completely different types of flowers on the same spike! And both flower types are "complete" (both male and female in each). The basal flowers, which are fuller, are orange colored and are fragrant. The apical flowers are yellow with red dots on the sepals and petals and are not fragrant. I only want to sell these for a short time, in this size and at this price. These plants are still several years away from blooming.

(Prosthechea boothiana) This is the plant called Enc. boothiana subsp. boothiana. "The Dollar Orchid"(because of its round flattened pseudobulbs). Miniature to small-growing hot to cool-growing species from the Bahamas, Mexico and maybe the Florida Keys. Erect spikes have one to five 3/4" flowers with yellow tepals heavily spotted with chestnut brown, and greenish yellow lips.
