Broughtonia domingensis (Laelia domingensis).

Very pretty, the large lip dominates in both form and color. Very limited. Lip is a cheerful lilac color with yellow veins and yellow center. Seven or eight flowers are grouped at the end of long spikes. It’s epiphytic habitat in very warm coastal areas indicates that it requires a good amount of light and probably should be mounted. TD297 Bulbophyllum Emily Siegerist `A-Doribil 52'.

(Bulbophyllum Elizabeth Ann x Bulb. lasiochilum) Produced by Suphachadiwong Nursery in Thailand in 1989. Clusters of large lasiochilum-looking flowers - much shorter than Elizabeth Ann but much longer than lasiochilum. Obviously the red form of lasiochilum was used since these cream-colored flowers have a lot of dark red spots and black-red dorsals. Small plants, large flowers. Easy, rewarding.

TD284 Bulbophyllum fritillariiflorum `Natural World', AM/AOS
Papua New Guinea.

No Image Available

Divisions. We got the nomenclature straightened out regarding this plant that we have offered in the past as Bulbophyllum arfakianum. It now is officially Bulbophyllum fritillariiflorum, and our mother plant ‘Natural World’ has received an AM/AOS in 2015. This is certainly one of the showiest bulbophyllums. Very attractive plants have roundish dark green leaves. The striking flowers are gigantic - 4 to 5 inches long or even bigger on a mature plant. Red purple reticulations over yellow-green - looks like some prehistoric reptilian. Only one division available.

Bulbophyllum longiflorum 'A-doribil Gold'.

Gallery
The original description by Thouars cites Mauritius as the origin – but the species apparently ranges all the way over to New Guinea and Fiji. This select cultivar has a Cirrhopetalum-like umbel with 2 ¼” long pale yellow flowers set off by brilliant red petals and red-spotted dorsal sepal tip and filament. Solicited many comments when shown at our local Society meeting. Easy – desirable.
