Bulbophyllum sulawesii.

Sulawesi Islands, Indonesia. Medium sized epiphyte with a large pseudobulbs and leaf. 5 or 6 large bizarre flowers bloom successively on 2 foot long inflorescences - high above the foliage. Long lateral and dorsal sepals are gold overlaid with red. Intricate lip is green and gold with purple hairs. Easy, rewarding.

West Africa.

West Africa. (syn. B. cocoinum) Very showy and satisfying when grown into a full specimen plant. Many gracefully arching inflorescences have numerous somewhat sessile straw colored flowers with pink petal and sepal tips. Supposedly has a pleasing fragrance of coconut, although I didn't verify that on our specimen plant.
