Laelia purpurata var. Schusteriana.

 L. purpurata, "The Queen of the Laelias." L. purpurata is found in the coastal areas of Brazil, south of Rio de Janeiro. "The plants were once so common they were said to grow even in the sands along the beaches!" (Withner, 1990) Ease of culture, as well as extremely showy presentation make L. purpurata a favorite of orchidists the world over. Very large flowers, 3-5 per inflorescence. White, with an intense clear dark purple lip with darker striations.
